Weekly Resource Round-up: Sep 14, 2021

This Week's Resources

As always, if you have something to share, contact SK Doyle, our Associate Director of Programs & Volunteers.

Eviction Moratorium Update

On September 2, 2021, New York extended the eviction moratorium for households through January 15, 2022. You can read more about that in this article. The DOI's September 3 advisement to City Marshals on this policy is also available online here. This is critical information to be sharing with your program clients and community.

Consultant Corps is Back!

The ECNY Consultant Corps program matches volunteers with professional skills with programs in need of volunteers with experience and knowledge. We are excited to revamp the program this fall! You can read more about it on our website here.

If you're interested in working with a Consultant Corps Member at your program, we've added a proposal form to the website as well. Please feel free to reach out to me (SK) with any questions about how a CC Member might partner at your program.

Basic Human Needs Grant Applications

As of September 3, our BHN Grant Cycle has opened! BHN grants support parish-based human services programs that address the specific needs of diverse communities throughout the diocese. You can read more about the grant program and access the application here. Please feel free to reach out to Patrick or SK with any questions about your application! Note that applications are due on Friday, October 1 and we always recommend starting early!

Sustainability Institutes: COVID-19 Community Conversations

On September 30th from 3:30 to 5 pm, we're partnering with the Department of Mental Health and Hygiene to hold a Community Conversation about COVID-19 and Mental Health. Programs of all types can benefit from this discussion! You can register on our Sustainability Institute page here.

As a reminder, EC grantee programs are required to attend three (3) online or one (1) in-person and one (1) virtual workshop. The above workshop count as 2 credits. Please note, SI credits are due at the same time as your grant application-- this is the final SI workshop before the BHN applications are due!

Bulk Buy Application

Our Bulk Buy program aggregates demand to allow programs to order in-demand foods like fresh produce, proteins, and culturally relevant foods for free. To apply for this program, fill out the form here.
